Cordova International Raceway Bigger and better than ever, the 66th annual O’Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing at Cordova (Ill.) International Raceway is just one month away on August 23-25, and tickets are still available. Adult tickets start at $30 for Friday, $40 for Saturday and $15 for Sunday. Tickets for children 6-12 are $10 for Friday, $10 for Saturday and $5 for Sunday. A three-day ticket for the entire weekend is available for $75 for adults and $20 for children 6-12. To receive a $5 discount off adult and children admission tickets for Friday, Saturday and the three-day ticket fans must visit one of the participating O’Reilly Auto Parts stores. Every ticket is a pit pass and includes free parking. General camping is just $40 per weekend. General camping is on a first come, first served basis. Started in Lawrenceville, Ill., in 1953, the World Series of Drag Racing has featured many of the world’s best drag racers in a family-friendly event. Headliners include Del Worsham, a former IHRA and NHRA World Champion, who is one of only three men to win World Championships in Top Fuel and Funny Car, Dom Lagana, the fastest driver in IHRA history and two-time IHRA World Champion Bruce Litton Masters of ceremonies are: legendary 17-time world champion “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, three-time World Champion Shirley Muldowney, the “First Lady of Drag Racing” and Arnie “The Farmer” Beswick, a multiple-time national event winner racing everything from factory stockers to supercharged Funny Cars. Exotic racing machines on the schedule include: fire-breathing Jet Cars, Nostalgia Funny Cars, Nostalgia Pro Stocks, Nostalgia Gassers, Fuel Altereds, Front-Engine Dragsters, Wheelstanders, Pro Mods, and the Kamper Korner R.V. bracket series.
