The Davenport Community School District and Mississippi Bend AEA will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, July 24 at 10:00am to celebrate the grand opening of a one-day student café, Jets Café, as part of the Camp Re-Imagine Summer Learning Program! The café will officially open on July 25.
 
The ribbon cutting will take place in the cafeteria of Jefferson Elementary School, located directly inside the front entrance.

About Camp Re-Imagine Program:
Camp Re-Imagine is the summer learning program at Jefferson Elementary. Students in the Healthy Me project are learning about eating healthy and staying physically active. They will be operating a 2-day restaurant as part of their culminating project.
The partnership between Davenport Community School District and Mississippi Bend AEA developed a pilot program focusing on how summer can be more than preventing summer loss. Summer can advance learning and skills. Camp Re-Imagine was developed around five foundational principles that increase enthusiasm, engagement and authentic learning for all students: 1. Student-Centered Learning 2. Collaboration 3. Culture of Curiosity 4. Personalization 5. Growth Mindset. The redesign of summer learning uses theme-based opportunities to enhance and enrich learning experiences that will boost educational/cognitive skills and career and college readiness at the elementary level.
