Rivermont Collegiate, 1821 Sunset Dr. Bettendorf, IA 52722 will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, August 11 at 1pm to celebrate the completion of phase one of two construction projects on the Rivermont Collegiate campus, the renovation of the old Carriage House.
An open house will take place 1pm – 6pm.
 
The building will accommodate the School's new boarding program beginning this fall. It has 16 beds (mostly single with a shared bathroom), 2 dorm parent apartments, a student commons, and space for a classroom. There is also a courtyard where students and visitors can relax outside.
 
The Carriage House footprint remains intact, the interior has been retrofitted for its new purpose. The exterior brick was repaired as well as iron accents, including the balcony railing, to maintain the building's character and historic accuracy. Built in 1915, the Carriage House is one of several buildings on the then 24 acre estate. Today, only the Mansion, Carriage House and the former guesthouse (now known as Wallace House) remain on almost 9 acres of the original estate.
