Annual Campaign Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Annual Campaign Director will be responsible for stewarding new donors, renewing and upgrading existing donors, and strengthening relationships with current supporters below the major donor level. S/he is accountable for meeting annual donation goals for donors. The Annual Campaign Director will write, produce, and project manage multi-channel fundraising campaigns; prioritize high-quality, timely responses for incoming donor inquiries and requests; contribute to all annual fundraising efforts; and work cross-functionally to ensure materials are deployed in a cost effective, and timely manner. This position reports to the Vice President, Strategic Advancement and works closely with other members of the Development team, as well as with Communications and Program teams. This position will work closely and courteously with all staff members and volunteers to ensure a high-quality Putnam experience for all guests.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Full-time, exempt with a starting salary range of $50,000 – $60,000 along with a competitive benefits package.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Develop and Implement Annual Individual Donor Fundraising Strategy
- Create and execute an annual fundraising plan utilizing current and emerging fundraising techniques that outline strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship.
- Develop and implement strategies and campaigns to encourage increased donor involvement and higher level giving, including prospects for leadership level or planned gifts.
- Identify fundraising goals and develop metrics to measure progress and success.
- Assist lead staff with monitoring, implementing and updating Putnam’s gift acceptance policies and procedures.
Fundraising Campaigns
- Plan, write, execute, track, and analyze all multi-channel fundraising appeals, including but not limited to: Calendar Year-End Appeals, Monthly Renewals and Increases, Annual Fund Campaign, Birdies for Charity, and others as appropriate.
- Responsible for annual campaign including:
- Coordinating annual gala, working with a staff and volunteer team;
- Identifying sources for new individual prospects for lower-level donor direct mail campaign that includes Birdies for Charity;
- Working with senior staff and Board to develop and implement friendraising and fundraising events and CEO meetings with upper-level ($1000+) individual prospects and donors.
- Collaborate with the Communications and Program teams to develop compelling fundraising content.
- Strategically segment individual donor audiences to maximize donor engagement and giving.
- Ensure donor messaging across platforms – email, mail, text, and online – is consistent and complementary.
- Develop and monitor timelines to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective production of materials and content.
Major Gift Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with development colleagues to identify potential major donors from high net-worth annual fund donors.
- Implement a planned giving program, including:
- conferring with prospective donors regarding giving opportunities;
- coordinating loyalty luncheons for long-term members;
- communicating with appropriate professionals in the region.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Use fundraising data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare regular reports on fundraising performance and progress towards goals.
- Individual donor research, as needed.
Team Leadership and Collaboration - Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, including Communications, Finance, and Programs, to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
- Assist with stewardship and cultivation events and activities as needed.
- Other related responsibilities as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves on committees as needed to support the strategic direction of the museum.
- Perform other duties that may be required to support the effective operation of the museum’s overall operations.
PHYSICAL OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position may require sitting, standing, and/or walking and climbing stairs throughout the facility for extended periods of time on any workday.
- The position requires concentration skills, verbal and numerical intelligence as well as speaking and listening skills.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong work tenure: Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on annual giving and individual donor relations.
- Experience with fundraising software and CRM systems
- Experience and interest in internal and external communications, partnership and development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom meetings.
