Community Foundation welcomes new board members
 
QUAD CITIES, Iowa / Illinois—Quad Citians Linda Andry, Kristen Roberts, and Laura Scott have been named to the Quad Cities Community Foundation’s board of directors.
 
“Our community guides our work, and we are so grateful to these three regional leaders for their commitment to our mission,” said Kent Pilcher, Community Foundation board chair. “Their time, energy, and vision will advance the cause of the Community Foundation. I’m incredibly proud to sit alongside them as we work to transform this region we all love.”
 
Andry is the CEO of Ascentra Credit Union. She has been working in financial services for 38 years, starting as a full-time teller at the former First National Bank of Moline. After nine years as a senior accountant with Bituminous Insurance (BITCO), she was asked to join Ascentra Credit Union as their chief financial officer. Andry spent 15 years as CFO and, in April 2021, was named CEO.  
 
Andry serves her community as a board member of the Bettendorf Development Corporation, of Community Business Lenders in Des Moines, and of First Community Trust in Dubuque. She currently serves on the Community Foundation’s investment committee.
 
Roberts is deeply committed to the work of nonprofits. She has held leadership positions with a diverse range of organizations, from community-based agencies to higher education institutions and membership groups. Prior to launching her consulting practice—Build to Bloom—Roberts served as the fraternal service and programs manager for Modern Woodmen of America, where she was responsible for the administration of programs and benefits to over 700,000 members and 1,300 nationwide volunteers.
 
At the Community Foundation, Roberts has served as chair of the Nonprofit Capacity Building Grants committee. She also co-founded a collective giving circle called the Circle of Healing and is a member of the West Side Giving Circle in Chicago.
 
Scott is an experienced finance professional and CPA whose accounting career spans public accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial planning and budgeting, primarily for large corporations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most recently, she retired from 11 years as a financial advisor. Scott currently manages the business affairs for St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. She has previously served as chair of the Community Foundation’s audit committee.
 
Tom Thoms and Scott Tinsman have completed their terms on the board after many years of service.
 
“The Community Foundation board makes decisions to ensure this organization supports our region in the best possible way,” said Sue Hafkemeyer, president and CEO. “I’m so thankful for all that Tom and Scott have contributed to our organization. Their perspective and experience have been a vital guide for our mission and have left a powerful legacy.”
 
Suresh Balakrishnan is now the board treasurer, Cristy Tackett-Hunt will remain as secretary, John Anderson will be the vice chair, Dr. LaDrina Wilson will serve as second vice-chair, and Pilcher will continue as board chair.
