women in philanthropy event featuring local experts

The Quad Cities Community Foundation will host Women and Wealth, a panel conversation on purposeful planning for giving and legacy on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

This free event will feature a panel of local experts offering guidance on how women can align their values, financial goals, and philanthropic aspirations.

“Women today are leading in philanthropy, business, and community service, and they are doing it with purpose,” said Anne Calder, Community Foundation vice president of development. “This event is designed to empower women to take intentional steps toward financial security and meaningful giving, creating a legacy that reflects their values. We want attendees to leave informed, confident, and inspired to take their next steps.”

Designed for women at all stages of their philanthropic journey, the event will address key financial considerations, strategies for integrating charitable giving into personal planning, and tools to help attendees act with clarity, confidence, and impact. Whether navigating a career transition, preparing for retirement, or thinking about ways to give back, participants will gain insights to help them lead with purpose—both personally and philanthropically.

The panel will be moderated by Laura Scott, a member of the Community Foundation’s board of directors, and will include Tracy Brashears, director of wealth advisement and fiduciary services, SVP, Quad City Bank & Trust, Laura Genis, CFP®, wealth management advisor, First VP, Merrill Lynch, Diane Puthoff, attorney at Lane & Waterman, and Aleeza Singh, senior financial advisor, SVP, The Singh Group at Merrill Lynch. Together, they bring expertise in financial planning, legal considerations, and charitable giving strategies, with a special focus on the unique needs and opportunities women face.

The presenting sponsor for the event is the Women’s Mental Health Endowment Supporting Vera French, a fund at the Community Foundation dedicated to improving mental health services for women in the Quad Cities.
