Description
Legislative Coffee: Workforce readiness and early childhood education
Friday, February 21 | 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
The Axis Hotel | Moline, IL
The first Legislative Coffee event of 2020 will focus on workforce readiness and early childhood education, two of the Chamber's legislative priorities this year.
We'll ask a panel of Iowa and Illinois state representatives and senators about the public policies and initiatives they're advocating for to develop, attract and retain our workforce – from education funding and reforms to quality of life projects. We'll also ask them about their work to increase access to affordable and adequate early childhood care, which is a workforce issue as well as an education and quality of life issue.
Attendees are encouraged to come prepared with questions related to these legislative priorities.
Confirmed legislators:
- Iowa Sen. Chris Cournoyer
- Iowa Rep. Monica Kurth
- Iowa Sen. Jim Lykam
- Illinois Rep. Tony McCombie
- Iowa Rep. Gary Mohr
- Iowa Rep. Cindy Winckler
Legislative Coffee events provide Chamber members and their employees the opportunity to establish relationships with key policymakers and voice views on issues moving in the legislature. Attend this event to connect with legislators and fellow Chamber members to advocate for policies that will support growing the Quad Cities economy.
