ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Workforce Initiatives shall be responsible to the President & CEO of the Quad City Construction Industry Advancement Trust & the BuildTheQC Workforce Committee.
- Job Purpose and Summary
This position will serve as the liaison to the BuildTheQC Careers in Construction Expo, website, social media, and other career recruitment events. The individual in this role has a continual and on-going responsibility to ensure the development of programs and events to increase community and member engagement. Cultivating relationships with public entities, community colleges, and community organizations throughout the Quad Cities area are also key responsibilities.
The individual will proactively plan, direct, and implement outreach programs and provide support to members when necessary.
- Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead workforce outreach initiatives at BuildTheQC.
- Promote union construction career opportunities in the Quad City Area.
- Help attract, retain, and develop a union construction workforce with the local union apprenticeships and the ACQC/AGCQC members.
- Develop and facilitate outreach with the local school districts, community colleges & community groups.
- Create an ambassador mentoring program between the ACQC/ AGCQC members and school districts.
- Facilitate planning and arrangements for the annual BuildTheQC Career Expo.
- Serve as a trustee on Union JATC Apprenticeship funds for QC Builders.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Broad knowledge and deep experience with workforce development, youth mentoring, and community engagement.
- Creative thinker ability to plan and develop innovative programs and maintain current.
- Ability to foster relationships within the community and with public officials and institutional & community leaders.
- Exceptional leadership skills, effective communication skills, group facilitation and presentation/training skills.
- Organized, detailed oriented, excellent work ethic, strong listener.
- Education & Experience
- Associates/bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Outreach experience preferred.
