PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Sr. Philanthropic Advisor and Director of Gift Planning is a senior fundraising professional responsible for designing, leading, and executing comprehensive gift planning with a strong emphasis on major gifts, planned gifts, and estate gifts. This role reports to the Vice President of Philanthropy and serves as a trusted advisor to donors, donor prospects, and their professional counsel, aligning donors’ philanthropic goals with the Community Foundation’s long-term mission and funding priorities.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 
The following are fundamental duties that an individual who holds the position must perform. This is not an exhaustive list. Other duties, in addition to these essential job functions, will be assigned in the discretion of the Vice President of Philanthropy.
 
  • Serve on the Development Team with a focus on major gift and planned giving strategies by identifying, cultivating, and facilitating complex gift plans to increase the impact of the Foundation.
  • Manage and cultivate a diverse portfolio of individuals and families with capacity for giving major and planned gifts.
  • Conduct in-depth donor discovery conversations to identify philanthropic intent, legacy interests, and estate planning opportunities.
  • Contribute to philanthropic services and gift development strategies, including targeted communications and marketing strategies to promote legacy giving and long-term philanthropic planning.
  • Collaborate with professional advisors to facilitate gift completion.
  • Support leadership and board members in donor cultivation and solicitation efforts related to major and estate gifts.
  • Support and participate in Foundation advocacy to further state and federal legislative charitable giving efforts.
Travel and attend meetings, presentations and events outside the office including occasional evenings and weekends.
