Job Description
The Director of Continuing Education Programs will lead the team of Program Managers within the Continuing Education department of the Workforce Division. The Director will serve on the Workforce Leadership Team. This position will oversee open enrollment, community education, and some contract training programs, program development, and program evaluation. This individual will be responsible for researching the labor market to develop new programs to keep the EICC Workforce Division on the cutting edge of workforce training and development.

This individual will collaborate with the EICC marketing team to develop and implement a marketing plan to promote the various programs and courses offered by the Workforce Division. This person is responsible for the creation and implementation of special projects, the development and improvement of department processes, and other projects in coordination with Vice Chancellor of Workforce Development. The Director will work closely with other members of the Workforce Leadership Team to ensure communication and coordination of workforce development programs.


 
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Leadership, Human Services, or related field required.
  • Must have minimum 5 years successful work experience in business, non-profit management, continuing education, or related area.
  • Previous successful supervisory experience required
  • Must have valid driver’s license and own transportation
 
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Masters level degree in Business, Education, Leadership, Human Services, or related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of Project Management techniques is preferred

  • Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
Salary Minimum Starting Salary: $87,000/Year
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Hire, train, supervise, review duties for assigned Program Managers.
  • Conduct research and development of new products.
  • Assist and support Program Managers with Career Pathway development.
  • Oversee financial and enrollment tracking and monitoring of corresponding program managers’ budgets and contract development; provide routine updates to Vice Chancellor.
  • Support the growth of enrollment, class offerings, and contracts through credit/non-credit partnerships.
  • Coordinate the development of a schedule planning timeline and the Workforce Division marketing plan.
  • Represents the institution on state peer workgroups and internal college planning teams.
  • Provide continuous process improvement strategies to support division growth and cross college program development.
  • Use LERN tools, benchmarks, and formulas to market program offerings, determine pricing, evaluate current offerings, and develop new courses/programs.
  • Develop and evaluate performance metrics for Program Managers based on the Workforce Division strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners and stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and customer service is provided in a non-duplicative, coordinated manner.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Workforce Development with sales contract training and 260E, 260F and WTED projects.
  • Lead and supervise the performance of staff and provide for their continued professional growth.
  • Collaborates with Program Managers and subject matter experts on appropriate training to meet local employer training gaps. Assist Program Managers with hiring SMEs for contract training as needed.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.
