RESPONSIBILITIES: This position assures that Western Illinois University is following the financial aid bylaws of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) by reviewing, analyzing, and ruling on decisions regarding the financial aid eligibility of prospective and current student athletes according to NCAA rules and regulations. Some, but not all, duties include the following:

1. Interpret and apply NCAA rules and policies as those rules apply to athletic financial aid compliance. Manage, update, and monitor the financial aid records during the student athletes' enrollment at WIU. Notification to student athletes of renewal, increase, decrease, or cancellation of scholarships on a yearly basis.

2. Supervise all phases of operation of student financial aid programs for student athletes (including, but not limited to, edits, verification, changes/corrections, packaging, and eligibility determination and monitoring, awarding, over award monitoring and disbursement of aid).

3. Serve as the liaison and problem solver between the Financial Aid Office, the WIU Foundations Office, the Scholarship Office, Billing & Receivables Office, and the Athletic Department.

4. Analyze and interpret financial aid and accounting records for the purpose of preparing reports (surveys) for other WIU offices, outside agencies, and various publications.

APPOINTMENT: As soon as possible

MONTHLY WAGE: $3,810 - $4,191 (anticipated starting salary $3,810)

Job Requirements:

A. Bachelor's degree in accountancy, business administration, management, or a closely related field.

B. Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in accounting, business administration, fiscal management, or closely related experience.

C. A combination of such education and/or work experience totaling three (3) years (36 months), as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

*30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)

*60 semester hours or an Associate's Degree equals eighteen months (18 months)

*90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). The degree must be conferred at the time of application.
